Many of my friends asked me how to speed up the disk cleanup dialog as it takes long time to analyze compressed files.I was also facing same problem. Acc to me the problem is processor specific as mostly ppl having intel processors were facing the problem. I searched internet and came to know about this:
Open registry editor (regedit.exe)
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VolumeCaches and remove the key Compressed files.
Restart your computer and you are done with it .
Next time when you start disk cleanup utility it won't stuck at compressed files , as it will skip checking for compressed files.
PS: make sure that you backup your registry by exporting the key before deleting it .
